Diana Rubio

Versatile Vocalist

About Me

I am a vocalist studying Music with an Outside Field at Stetson University. My work focuses on performing classical choral and solo repertoire, as well as musical theater and opera. I've recently performed Beethoven's 9th symphony at Steinmetz Hall, which required the collaboration of Stetson's Concert Choir and Choral Union with Stetson's Symphony Orchestra. My goal is to work professionally with other choirs and musicians, with an emphasis on pieces from a variety of different cultures. By connecting with and performing for choirs, such as joining Stetson's Concert Choir this year or performing with Stetson Opera Theater, I can gain experience and establish myself in the choral world and as a performer. As for expanding the variety of pieces I perform, I can research music from different cultures, perform music from composers who come from under represented cultures, and work with musicians from all walks of life. I can especially lean into Hispanic and Latino music, such as Zarzuelas, as a Cuban American to share my culture in the classical world.
I recently graduated with a degree in Associate of Arts in Music and Music Education from Miami-Dade College. Currently, I am studying at Stetson University to receive my Bachelor's in Music.
